Prayer for France

40 Days of Strategic Prayer for France!
February 21 - April 1, 2007

Did you know that in America, most churches, individuals, missionary agencies, and prayer groups have no information or tools to join their brothers and sisters in "moving the mountains" in France during this time?

Yet this unified and targeted 40-day prayer strategy has been going on since 2001 and strongholds have been coming down ever since. There are more ministries, more churches, and more growth in the Kingdom of God in France than ever before!

That's why in 2007, CCFOF partnered with Objectif France to mobilize, unify, and amplify the prayers of America's Christians who have a heart for France!

Background...

In 1997, John Mulinde (a pastor from Uganda) came to Paris to call the people of God to humble themselves, pray, and seek His face for France. For two years he came back to France with the same message.

In 1999, a group of Christians came together to institute a time of 40 days of prayer and fasting for France. It was during these 40 days that Jacky Minard met an English missionary who wanted to begin a world-wide mobilization of prayer and fasting for France starting in 2001.

So that the prayer would be targeted and united, he wanted to edit a Prayer Guide that would provide comprehensive and precise information on France. He needed a coordinator in France, and so was born Objectif France!

Objectif France collaborates with all churches and all Christian walks. A group began meeting in Paris on a regular basis to cooperate and create the guide.

In 2001, over 2 million Christians from across the world came alongside French Christians to intercede for France! Because of this success and the clear confirmation from God, Objectif France has continued to distribute the guide since that time.

Situation in 2007

There is currently no organization focused on advocating this project in the United States, so in parternship with Objectif France, the CCFOF started a U.S. Prayer Guide distribution and awareness project.

We contacted over 25,000 churches, missionary agencies, and individuals throughout the country to ask them to join us in prayer by downloading the free guide from Objectif France's website or ordering a printed version.

All the guides are in English and have 52 pages of up-to-date information, prayer points, and resources to help individuals, churches, and prayer groups intercede for France.

The CCFOF also opened an Objectif France Ministry Fund so that individuals in America could give tax-deductible gifts to support this project.

Four action points

We offered individuals four concrete ways to get involved - all of which we encourage throughout the year!

Action Point #1: Get the guide! Individuals can visit Objectif France's website and download a free guide by clicking here.

Action Point #2: Pray for Objectif France and this project! Click here to visit their website and learn more about their work and ministry.

Action Point #3: E-mail your contacts and send them to our site! Your help in connecting others with this effort will directly increase prayers for France!

Action Point #4: Give a tax-deductible gift in support of this project! 100% of the money raised will go directly to Objectif France's work. You can also click here to sign up for CCFOF's free e-newsletter on our home page!

The Results...

The CCFOF engaged in a two-prong campaign. First, we sent e-mails to 25,177 pastors and ministry leaders and personally contacted 34 of the largest Evangelical churches in America.

The e-mail campaign faced significant challenges despite the large number of individuals who received the e-mail.

E-mails sent: 25,177
Not delivered: 752 (2.98%)
Delivered: 24,348 (97.02%)
Opted out: 45 (.184%)
Confirmed participation: 14 (.06%)
Website click-throughs: 64 (.263%)

Despite the poor results of the e-mail campaign, personally contacting the 45 largest churches in America yielded much better results.

Churches contacted: 34
Total attendance of contacted churches: 408,000
Confirmed participation: 4 (11.76%)
Attendance of participating churches: 43,000 (10.5%)

The Objectif France webpages on the CCFOF site received 163 visits out of 779 site visits or 20.92% of all our traffic during the period of the prayer campaign. 99 of those visitors came through other avenues than the e-mail campaign.

The CCFOF's Minsitry Fund for Objectif France is still open!

“There was more zeal this year than last and we had great expectations. We rediscovered the enthusiasm from 2001 and there are more people coming to our meetings than in any of the last years. God has poured out His grace and favor on us!" (Poitiers)

“This was a larger, more intense, and more persistant mobilization. A real renewal of prayer in the heart of the church. Everyone wants to go further in intercession." (76-Yvetot)

“We need to continue this initiative. I am encouraging my friends in the United States to pray for France. We are seeing God move and we can't stop! After 18 years of ministry, the last 6 were the most fruitful." (Toulouse)

“I felt the power of the Holy Spirit flow through us at our church during one of the weeks of prayer. We have been blessed and feel the strong unity in the Spirit."

Quick Facts on France...
