Open a Giving Fund

Open a Giving fund

Every donor or group of donors has different reasons for investing in French ministries. The CCFOF helps you to construct the kind of fund that is best for you.

Here are some of the possibilities:

Donor Advised Fund

By opening a Donor Advised Fund with the CCFOF, fund advisors actively participate in grant making to French ministries. When you establish a donor advised fund with the CCFOF, you reserve the right to make grant recommendations to support charitable organizations and activities that interest you. The advised fund is especially useful if you want to take a charitable deduction one year and make distributions over several years, or if you wish to involve family members in your ongoing charitable giving.

A provision may be added to an unrestricted, field-of-interest, or scholarship fund agreement requiring CCFOF to seek advice from the donor, or persons named by the donor, on distributions to be made from the fund. Advice cannot be binding on the CCFOF board, but is given full and careful consideration.

Field-Of-Interest Fund

The donor may direct that CCFOF make grants only for specific types of ministries: for example, ministries that reach specific communities, operate specific outreach programs, etc. Donors may also designate that CCFOF make grants only to a specific geographic area within France.

Ministry Fund

The donor may name the ministry or charitable organization to be assisted by distributions from the fund if the organization meets the requirements of the CCFOF. Should a designated organization cease to exist or the purpose it serves becomes obsolete, the CCFOF Board has the responsibility and authority to re-apply the distributions to another similar charitable organization.

Discretionary Fund

The donor may choose to establish a fund to benefit the purposes of the Foundation. The CCFOF makes grants from these funds directly to French ministries in the form of challenge grants to inspire generosity within the base of ministry supporters.
